Welcome back Friend!
I thought I would give you all an explanation of the name I chose for my blog, 'Dancing In Valleys.'
I've been pretty excited to tell you all, so here goes!
After deciding to start a blog, I knew there were a few crucial things I needed to do before I could actually start writing, one of them being that I needed to choose a name. I always wanted a name that would echo what I envisioned my blog to be like, but I also wanted something that would have some kind of biblical tie. So I put some worship music on and around 45 minutes later I had twelve different name options. Obviously that was eleven too many, so I started to cut down (trust me this was not easy, haha) and approximately fifteen minutes later I was left with two names: 'Rhythms Of Grace' and 'Dancing In Valleys'. Now, if I was being completely honest, one of the reasons I chose 'Dancing In Valleys' was because the name 'Rhythms Of Grace' had been taken on Instagram, and there was a pretty popular song already called, 'Rhythms Of Grace.' *BUT* there is another reason...
A while back I heard a message on the mountains and valleys of life and one of the points that have stuck with me is: 'It's easy to praise God when you're on top of a mountain in life, but it's even more important to praise Him in the valleys of life, because that's when He's preparing you for what's coming next.' Then, right after having that thought, the song 'Yes I Will' by Vertical Worship came on and one of the lines in the song is: 'Yes I will, lift you high in the lowest valley' and at that moment I knew what I was going to call my blog.
Fast forward a few weeks later and I was sitting at the computer with my dad, trying to come up with a logo, and as we were playing around with the letters in the name my Dad suddenly goes: 'Deo Volente!' and I'm thinking *whaaatttt?!* So my Dad explains that 'Deo Volente' means 'God Willing.' *I know ;)* and it's also the first and third letters of the name. Perfect. So that became another one of the biblical ties, along with the message I heard and the song lyric.
Now, the echoing of what I envisioned my blog to be like wasn't that hard. Since I already felt like God had wanted me to start a blog, I knew that I wanted to lift His name high in my posts, even in the valleys, and that through lifting His name high during the valleys of life, I would hopefully be able to encourage at least one other person out there.
So I guess that's the 'Behind The Name Of' Dancing In Valleys :)
Until next time,
Larah x
